CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

MAT CLASSES

Pilates Mat

This is a Pilates class on the mat, combining foundation Pilates movements with additional sequences and exercises designed to achieve full body balance and deep postural core strength.

 

Arc on the Mat

This is a mat-based Pilates class using the versatile Pilates equipment, the Arc, which helps mobilise the spine and connect deeper muscles. The use of the Arc gives some support during exercises to help you achieve a full body effect with an increased focus on elongation and stretching. 

 

Strength on the Mat

This is a mat-based Pilates class using the addition of weights and resistance bands, to focus on increasing strength and muscle endurance. This class is designed to challenge your entire body, especially the lower body and core.

This class is not designed for anybody with an injury, or who is currently pregnant or early postnatal

 

Munz Floor® 

This is a gentle wellness practice performed on the mat, using bodyweight alone to achieve results. It follows natural spinal patterns of the body, using three-dimensional and multidirectional movements performed with extreme slowness, acting like a gentle yet deep massage. The regenerating spirals have anti-inflammatory, pain relieving and rehydrating effects to free the body from problems including short term or chronic tensions, migraines and digestive issues.

This class is not designed for anybody who is currently pregnant or early postnatal.

 

Stretch

This is a full body mat-based class focussing on the use of both static and dynamic stretching exercises and movements to achieve increased mobility, flexibility and improved postural control.

 

Yoga Flow

Our yoga classes are small semi-private mat-based classes using the principles of Anusara, Hatha and Vinyasa flow. They are specifically designed to help lengthen and strengthen the muscles whilst giving you a greater awareness of balance, posture, and full body connection. During each session the breath will be used to guide and ground both the body and mind, helping to calm and rebalance the nervous system.

 

REFORMER EQUIPMENT CLASSES

 

Group Reformer

This is a Pilates-based class using the Reformer equipment. It is designed to give you a low impact, full body workout with a focus on core connection, controlled movement, postural awareness and full body strengthening.

These classes are adapted for all levels and abilities.

 

French Reformer

This is an all-level Reformer class as above, which is taught in French.

 

Reformer Foundations

This is a Pilates- based class using the Reformer equipment. It is specifically designed for anyone who is new to equipment training or who wishes to revisit the key principles of Pilates, with movements, on the Reformer. It is a slightly slower paced class which uses lots of cues for positioning and breathing, to develop a deeper understanding of the Pilates method and principles.

 

Barre Reformer

This is a Reformer-based class, using the Pilates jump board and standing barre exercises. It is a dynamic, cardio style class that combines periods of high and low intensity movements to get your heart pumping, while still maintaining the focus on alignment and core strengthening.

This class is designed for those that have prior experience of Reformer Pilates classes.

This class is not suitable for anybody with an injury, or who is currently pregnant or early postnatal.

 

Jump Reformer

This is a Reformer-based class, using the Pilates jump board. It is a dynamic, cardio style class combining periods of high and low intensity movements to get your heart pumping, while still maintaining the focus on alignment and core strengthening.

This class is designed for those that have prior experience of Reformer Pilates.

This class is not suitable for anybody with an injury, or who is currently pregnant or early postnatal.

 

Arc on the Reformer

This is a Reformer-based class, with the additional use of the Pilates Arc. It is designed to give you greater connection and more support during your exercises, resulting in increased core training and a new understanding of working from your powerhouse.

This class is designed for those that have prior experience of Reformer Pilates classes.

This class is not suitable for anybody with an injury, or who is currently pregnant or early postnatal.

 

Strength on the Reformer

Strength Reformer is a higher intensity workout using the Reformer machine alongside free weights. This class is designed to challenge your entire body especially the lower body and your core.

This class is not suitable for anybody with an injury, or who is currently pregnant or early postnatal.

 

Intermediate / Advanced Reformer

This is a Pilates Reformer class, based on advanced Pilates movements designed to specifically challenge and advance your practice. It is perfect for those who are already experienced in the Pilates Reformer repertoire and looking to work harder.

This class is not suitable for anybody with an injury, or who is currently pregnant or early postnatal.

 

Adolescent Reformer

This is a Pilates Reformer class, designed specifically for adolescents. The exercises in this class are adapted to meet the demands of this age group, including a focus on postural control, graded muscle strengthening and building a positive body image.
